Hallo, Knut-fans! It is me, your smiling Knuti! Do you know why I am smiling? Because I am here to talk to you about an important topic: “Knut-Trition.” Now you know that your Knuti loves to eat; and I know all true knutians love to eat, too!
So, I’d like to talk to you about important food groups for total “Knut – Trition.” Remember, you are what you eat!… I have asked some of my bear friends to helpout; so here we go!

Knut-TritionVH

gohgo

This is my cousin Gohgo; she lives at the Tennoji Zoo in Osaka, Japan. She heard the old adage: “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Well, Gohgo thought that if she eats lots of apples, she’ll remain really healthy! So far it’s working great for her!

Halloween Treat

Next is my pal, Hudson–you remember Hudson, right?! He’s at the Brookfield Zoo in Illinois, USA. He’s a great guy…and what makes him so healthy and handsome is that he eats his vegetables! You see him here eating a pumpkin; one of his favorites! This is Hudson’s secret to a healthy life and vitality. Remember, knutians; eat your veggies!

Here’s my cousin who lives in the San Diego Zoo; he prefers to smoke his veggies! Here he is with a carrot in his mouth! Isn’t he a funny bear?

tiguac1

And if you must eat lettuce, let it be decorating a cake, o.k.? Here is my cousin Tiguac eating a lettuce birthday cake at her home in Quebec City! Yeah, even when you make it fun, it’s still lettuce….good try, though!

greenbear

Now here is another cousin from Higashiyama Zoo in Japan. He ate his veggies and went over-board–too much of a good thing….well, isn’t good! Yes, this bear loves his veggies; in fact, he ate so many of them that he turned green! Please be careful of this! My suggestion is to eat green veggies sparingly.

knutiandthefish

Now here is your Knuti demonstrating a very important food group–Fish! Ah, yes; your Knuti loves his fishies! My all-time favorite is salmon, of course! But I love all kinds of fish! This is how my lovely coat of fur stays so beautiful and fluffy! You, too, can be beautiful and fluffy; just include this food group in your daily diet!

CroissantsUndPapiSimoneR

The next food group is really a favorite of mine–Croissants! Yes! Did you not know that Croissants are a food group? They are a major group for me; I love them lots. I love to catch them in the air and eat them up… I used to love it when Papi would come out on my enclosure and bring me a couple of croissants. They remind me of Papi and a wonderful time in my life; that’s why I love them so.

And the final food group for today is Fruit–especially GRAPES! I love them! I know they’re green too, but they’re much better than lettuce! And here is the best way to serve grapes!

So, knut-fans–if you take Knuti’s advice, you will be healthy and grow tall and strong like me! Bye-bye for now!

  1. Oh Knuti, you and your friends are all so strong and handome, I will take your advice starting right now! I wonder, will you soon be selling your own brand of vitamin supplements for busy polar bears (and people0 on the go?

  2. What a comprehensive run down of polar diet around the world zoos Mervi. Polar bears just know what’s good for you, some even to the point of going overboard and turning green. Be cautious perusing green vegetables…
Thank you Mervi for the giggle.

  3. Betsy & Leaf–Glad you like it! It was fun to put together & write! xo k-j

  4. Knuti -Judi,

This is a such a funny and well laid out presentation. I am smiling even now as I write comments. Knuti is confident and smart enough to play the role of Knut-Trition expert any time. Remember too he lost weight himself from his portlier days, proof he knows how to eat well and wisely.

It is always so special to see a photo of Thomas and he brings such such sweet memories.

Knuti’s cousins are all fantastic looking, especially the sultry Tiguac from Quebec with her tiny ears and supermodel body. I think she and Herr Lloyd would look great together with their stunning good looks.

  5. Celinne, Thanks for the great comments! Yes, Tiguac does have supermodel qualities, doesn’t she?! And we will never tire of pictures of the DreamTeam…sigh….xo k-j

  6. Love the photos and Knuti’s commentary!
Now you know what to do with your Halloween pumpkins.

  7. Oopsie Judy, I think Mervi forgot to add an author of this post.
I hope you and her are in on fixing the issue. ;)

  8. Dear Knuti,

    Hugs Danielle

  9. KNUTI-JUDY and KNUT – Thank you for train me as maintaining a healthy and beautiful body. A question: if I maintain this diet will I also acquire a skin soft fuzzy? I will begin to smoke carrots, not more cigarettes… this is more better!!

  10. Knuti-Judy, I will follow the example of Knut and his cousins. No more cake or french fries, only fruits, fish and vegetables. Then I hope to become a very beautiful lady with a dreambody.
