Eisbär Knut ist schönstes Briefmarkenmotiv

Der Eisbär Knut ist nach Sammlermeinung das schönste deutsche Briefmarkenmotiv 2008. Das ist das Ergebnis einer Abstimmung, an der sich rund 400 000 Briefmarkensammler beteiligten, wie die Deutsche Post am Donnerstag in Bonn berichtete. Etwa ein Fünftel der Teilnehmer entschied sich für den Publikumsliebling des Berliner Zoos.
Das Motiv stehe symbolisch für den Schutz der biologischen Vielfalt. Knuts Bild – entworfen vom Kieler Briefmarken-Designer Kym Erdmann – ziert eine Sondermarke aus der Serie «Für den Umweltschutz». Der Zuschlag von 25 Cent fließt in einen Fonds, aus dem verschiedene Projekte zur biologischen Vielfalt gefördert werden.
Mervi, The collectors have good taste and judgment! And it’s not even Knuti’s best photo. I think he is more cute and handsome now than when he was a baby. All baby polar bears look cute. But our Knuti has a lot of character in his face now–he is still cute and in addition has a very loving (unless annoyed by a gardener or whatever) and intelligent looking face.

I agree with Sarsam. Knuti is maturing into an young bear with character and sensitivity etched into his face.
He isn’t as burly as Lars or great granddaddy Manasse nor is he as gorgeously rugged as Herr Lloyd. He isn’t a pretty boy like Wilbar, Bill or Raspi ( and those three are very pretty boys) but he has something indefinable about his classic looks that stands out….
Of course the Knuti stamp is the number one. We know that from the first day the stamp could be bought.
