A bankman rescued ducklings

Today Joel Arsmstrong became a hero when he rescued a whole duck family! The mother duck had made a nest in a roof and today she decided it was time to go to the near by river. She flew down the roof but the duckling couldn’t follow. Joel – who’s a great friend of all animals – didn’t hesitate but went down to the street and caught the little ducks jumping down from the roof. What a hero!

  1. Mervi, Thank you. Just the thing needed after a couple of days of intense discussions of Knuti’s future. The banker really is a hero for that duck family. As far as I know only wood ducks regularly build their nests up high (although not in the city!) and the ducklings jump several feet to the ground. Mallards are not supposed to do that!!

  2. What a kind hearted soul. He has single-handed restored my confidence in bankers. Reminds me of situations I have encountered over the years trying to rescue animals. May mommy and her ducklings have a safe and happy future and may Mr Banker get a promotion for doing such great work. His bank got a great PR break here although I know he did it for the animals. Thanks for sharing!!

  3. That is such a heartwarming story. I was so touched when I saw the video in German TV.

  4. This made it on Sydney TV also, it was so heartwarming to see him then guiding the duck family along the street. What a good soul. We have had a lot of stories in the news recently here about footballers behaving badly (*groan*), so it was good to see this little item on the evening news, and not just tucked away here in this gem of webpage! :)
