Wir sind kurz nach 10 Uhr im Zoo angekommen und gleich zu Knut gegangen. Knut schlief tief und fest, es war nur ein Stückchen vom Rücken zu sehen. Berni und die beiden Frauen schliefen auch. Wir sind dann zu den großen Eisbären gegangen. Sie waren munter und warteten auf die Fütterung. Lars lag vorn, Tosca stand direkt hinter ihm. Katjuscha stand oben und Nancy war im Wasser. Die drei Damen sehen sehr gut aus, weiss und rund. Lars ist wie immer schlank. Die Fütterung machte Frau Weckert. Ich bewundere immer wie gut sie werfen kann. Lars hat seine Fleischstücke super gefangen und meistens gleich geschluckt. Tosca kaute manierlich und hielt die Stückchen in den Pfoten. Nach dem Fleisch kamen die Brötchen und die Nüsse dran.

Danach haben wir Devi besucht. Devi hüpfte fröhlich, aber die Mutter wollte rein und die beiden platzierten sich vor dem Eingang.

Wir gingen zu Knut. ER schlief, nur ein Ohr war zu sehen. Ich bat meine Tochter das Ohr zu fotografieren, aber Knut setzte sich plötzlich auf, gähnte und legte sich wieder hin. Es war aber schon sehr heiß und Knut stand auf und ging ins Wasser. Leider ist er in die linke Ecke gegangen und spielte dort leidenschaftlich mit dem Nackthuhn. Es war schwierig ihn dort zu fotografieren. Mein Mann und meine Tochter gingen ins Aquarium und ich blieb erst bei Knut. Dann bin ich eine Runde durch den Zoo gelaufen. Ich habe das kleine Tapirmädchen besucht, sie war mit der Mutter im Haus. Der Papa war draußen.

Baobao lag auf dem Rücken und kaute an Bambuszweigen. Der Löwe Paul lag draußen und brüllte, eine von seinen Frauen brüllte aus dem Haus zurück, sie lief unzufrieden hin und her. Die andere Frau schlief auf dem Rücken. Die jungen Löwen schliefen. Ein Tiger lief draußen, der andere schlief im Haus. Jemand hat mir erzählt, dass die Tiger sich nicht mögen, deswegen gibt es auch kein Nachwuchs. Bei den Ameisenbären war nur ein Tier auf der Wiese.

Zurück zu Knut. Er war nicht mehr im Wasser und lief hin und her. Berni und seine Damen waren im Wasser. Eine Bärin isst leidenschaftlich gern Algen.

Dann hat Knut wieder zu spielen angefangen, diesmal vor der Scheibe. Er hat die grünen Kugeln geholt und sich konzentriert damit beschäftigt bis Frau Weckert bei den Braunbären ankam. Zur Fütterung kamen die Wölfe und platzierten sich links und rechts von Berni. Frau Weckert hat die Fische so gut geworfen, dass die Wölfe leer ausgingen.

Über die Fütterung von Knut schreibe ich nicht, weil meine Tochter alles auf Video aufgenommen hat.

Danach sind wir zu den Seelöwen gegangen. Die Vorstellung war super!

Knut spielte später wieder in der linken Ecke. Wir haben ihm „Tschüß“ gesagt und noch ein Mal seine Eltern und die Tanten besucht. Sie schliefen. Plötzlich kam eine Gruppe Kinder mit Brötchen und Walnüssen (Kindergeburtstag im Zoo). Die Begleiterin hat mit den Brötchen im Eimer geklappert und die Eisbärendamen waren schon auf dem Weg zur Scheibe. Lars war unentschlossen. Er stand auf, reckte und streckte sich und ging dann doch langsam nach unten. Ich glaube, er hat am Ende ein letztes Brötchen abbekommen. Ich musste an Patricias Bemerkung, dass Lars ein Huhn ist, denken.

We arrived at the zoo at 10am and went straight to Knut. He was fast asleep with only part of his back showing. Berni and his two women were asleep, as well. So, we went to the big polar bears. They were up and waiting for their feeding. Lars was lying up front, Tosca standing right behind him, Katjuscha was standing on the rocks, and Nancy in the water. The three females are looking good, white and round. Lars is slender as usual. Feeding duties were on Ms. Weckert. I always admire her for her great throwing skills. Lars caught his pieces of meat out of the air, and ate them without chewing. Tosca showed more care for her food, chewing the meat meticulously, holding the pieces with her paw. Following the meat portion of the feeding were rolls and nuts.

After this we went to visit Devi. Devi was jumping aroung joyously but the mother wanted to go inside, so the two of them positioned themselves in front of the entrance.

Next stop: Knut! He was still asleep, and all we saw was one ear. I told my daughter to take a picture of the ear but Knut got up, turned around and fell back down to sleep. However, it had gotten pretty hot by then already. So, Knut got up and started going in the water. Unfortunately, he went into the left corner to passionately play with his aussie dog. It was tough to take pictures of him in that corner. My knusband and daughter went to the aquarium while I stayed with Knuti for some more time. After that I went for a walk through the rest of the zoo. I saw the Tapir baby, she was with her mother in their inside housing. The dad was lying around outside.

Baobao lay on his back chewing on bamboo. Lion, Paul, roared outside. One of his wife roared back loudly from inside, running back and forth unhappily. The other female was sleeping on her back. The youngsters were asleep, too. One of the tigers was running around outside, the other asleep inside. Someone told me that the tigers are not very fond of each other, which is why there’s no offspring, yet. Only one of the anteaters was on their playground,

Back to our love Knut. He was back on land and walking. Berni and his females were in the water. One of the females loves to eat algae.

Knut started playing again, this time in front of his glass window. He got the green balls and started fiddling around with them lovingly until Ms. Weckert came to the brown bears. The white wolves joined the feeding party of the bears, and sat left and right of Berni. Ms. Weckert threw the fish so well that the wolves did not get any of it.

I wont take away any of the joy of Knut’s feeding as my daughter recorded it whole, so you can watch and love it! Enjoy!

Next on our zoo tour were the sea lions. The show was really nice.

Knut was playing in the left corner again when we got back to him. We told him “bye” and walked by his aunts and parents one more time. They were minding their own business, relaxing on the rocks. Suddenly a group of kids came by with rolls and nuts. They were celebrating a birthday. The zoo person that was with them rattled with the bucket which lead to a jump start of the female polar bears. They went straight to the glass window while Lars was still considering his plan of action. Fairly unmotivated, he finally started walking toward the glass as well. I believe he might have gotten one last roll. That reminded me of Patricia’s remark that Lars is a chicken.
