Kai-Mook and the dove

Our Kai-Mook is a little lolifantje who adores playing. No dove in the enclosure is safe for her. As soon as she is noticing one there, she comes galloing with wide-spread ears and loudly trumpetting. The dove is then kindly advised to get away as soon as possible. And also the big ball of about 60 kilo has already been tested by her. She can ly on it, roll with it, kick, so many options. The big elephants use the ball to stand on it when the want to fish the hay out of the nets. But Kai-Mook still needs to grow a “bit” for that matter. Meanwhile the keepers think that she is now about 145 KG. However, it is still an estimate because she still refuses to use the “weegschaal”. She is still a bit scared of the balance and for the moment is watching the others for her more than sufficient.

Lately the elephants received a new ball, a so-called inflatable elephant balls coming all the way from Australia to play soccer with, for example. Fun guaranteed. After a certain reluctance for the ball in their water, curiousity won and it was May Tagu who took the initiative to explore this strange thing. Na ja, all elephants have had their 15 seconds of fun with the ball, because then May Tagu did the ultimate test and pushed on it with all her full weight and forces. Result ….. indeed, so watch the video and enjoy.

  1. Madammeken Patricia,

Thank you so much for keeping us informed about our little lolifantje. It’s great to be able to follow her development. She’s quite a team player already!

    Hugs from Mervi

  3. Patricia-
what a lovely report about lolifantje. Thank you for the pics and the video. I just thought whether such a strong ball would be a new toy for Flocke and Raspi.

  4. Hi Patricia,

Thank you very much for the photos and video of Kai-Mook! She sure is a cute and playful lolifantje! I suppose the doves have plenty of time to get away since she is trumpeting at them while she runs–maybe they enjoy the game too–I can just see them laughing at this lumbering thing coming towards them!!
