Now we have proof that Knuti understands everything we’re talking outside his enclosure. No wonder he sometimes laughs, shakes his head in disbelief or wonders what these twolegged beings really think …. or do they think at all! Greetings from Mervi

Es war sehr heiss

 ”Ach, ich möchte Knuti ein Glas Wasser geben”

 sagte ich einer Fototante neben mir

Sie antwortete “Genau, bei diesen Temperaturen sollte man viel trinken”

Er sollte doch etwas trinken gehen, meinten wir beide

Und schaut mal, was dann geschah

Knuti hatte alles verstanden :-)

Eins …

… zwei …

… drei!

Das tat gut!

Knuti hat auch einen Gesundheitstipp

Ausreichend Schlaf ist sehr wichtig

    LeenaP — Thank you for the wonderful photos of a very handsome and sophisticated Knuti! Knuti says he has spent a good deal of time observing and listening to his visitors and knows very well how to get them to do what he wants. A little flirty look here, a waving paw there, and the visitors ooh and aah and bring him many toys and good food treats!!

    LennaP- I really want to express my thanks for the article and photos of Himself. He is indeed getting bigger since I last saw him in person (November). Even then he had a presence that was uncanny walking around his compound and he does know that he’s the Star…

    Great article and photos. Knuti knows he has been ordained to charm mortals around the world and he knows how to work that charisma gene. Nicely phrased Mike Kerwin…describing Knut as “Himself”.

    Dear Friends –

    In the first of LeenaP’s photos, to me, it looks as though Knuti is poised to say:

    Dear Friends,

    I am more pleased than you could know that you come to visit me, that you call to me, say my name, bring me treats, and yes, I do watch, er, smell for any extra wrapped or unwrapped fish making its way to my enclosure. Keep up the good work. I’ll always be here for you, and I trust you’ll do the same for me.

    Of course, my interpretation, but I’m entitled ;-) . I also see from remainder of photos that our bear, at his tender age, is exhibiting signs of wise, Ger. weise. Ditto to above comments ;-)
