Ein Jahr ist vergangen seit Thomas Dörflein unerwartet und viel zu früh starb. Vergessen ist er nicht.

Er hatte immer ein ganz besonderes Verhältnis zu seinen Tieren. Das war ihm und den Tieren deutlich anzusehen. Sein größtes Vermächtnis ist natürlich Knut. Er hat ihn geprägt und hat ihm durch seine Liebe alles mitgegeben, das ein Eisbär in Gefangenschaft braucht. Knut ist ein wunderbarer Eisbärjunge geworden.

Knut hatte verbotenerweise eine Hose und einen Schlauch von Thomas Dörflein erhalten. Er liebte sie.

Zwei Tage nach TD’s Tod präparierte Herr Röbke die Anlage für Knut mit Hose und Schlauch. Es war bewegend zu sehen, wie Knut die Witterung aufnahm und die Hose vom Baum holte.

Es gäbe so viel zu erzählen und zu zeigen.

    Dear Doris and Jessie,

    Thank you for this beautifully done tribute to Thomas. Although his absence is painful, these photos and the video are joyous reminders of a dedicated and loving man and the loving relationship that developed between him and Knut. As for Knut, the loving upbringing that he received will always be inside him, helping him to deal with the challenges in his world.
