Sleepless in Bärlin?

Hello friends! I think I have noticed many of you are very excited about my meetings with a certain lady bear. I myself am taking it very easy – well, fairly easy anyway….I have my good looks and my gentlemanlike manners so I shouldn’t be worrying about anything. Still, to be honest, I sometimes feel the crumbs of croissants dancing polar bear boogie in my stomach.

A growing bear who’s about to meet his bride-to-be needs lots of energy so don’t forget the little presents – preferably salmons – to me! I’m even considering to share them with Gio. Mind you – I said I’m considering.

I don’t really understand this fuss. I shall meet a girl bear – so what?? We bears know instinctively how to deal with new experiences. Please, don’t worry!

I’ve heard that Italian girl hasn’t eaten anything yet. That worries me a little but on the other hand we polar bears can be without food several days. I’m sure she will start eating soon. I certainly hope she’s not one of those ‘dieting’ kind of babes!!! How do you like my new hairdo?

Hmmm – I think I smelled something in my cave….but there was nobody there. You must admit my camouflage outfit is perfect.

Some visitors are whispering things about flowers and bees. I wonder why. I like flowers and sometimes even bees – they are little flying things making funny noises….

There’s definitely a new scent in my enclosure….

I have almost said ‘hello’ to Giovanna but I could use some advice of how to behave by our next meeting. Maybe I should sing: ‘A kiss on the paw may be quite continental but salmons are the bears’ best friends’. Oh dear, I’m getting goose pimples…Can a polar bear get goose pimples? Maybe I AM a bit nervous….

Oh well, since I’m still ‘een kleenet Kind’ I want to continue playing with my toys like this funny thing Knuti-Judi brought me from USA!

I’m going to sleep like a knuby but if you have difficulties – why don’t you try counting polar bears tonight?

Your Knuti

  1. Dear Mervi,
what a lovely story and beautiful pics. Knuti keeps cool as cool can be. I wonder how cool he keeps when the grid between both teenagers has been removed. Let’s wait and see.
Thanks again for this lovely article

  3. Dear Mervi, You always know just what the boy is thinking! Charming thoughts, of course! Our boy will do his best, I am sure….he is a loving and gentle bear…..BTW, Where is Dr. S. and his camera when you need him? xo k-j

  4. Dear Knuti,

Thank you for dictating your thoughts about your new friend to Mervi. So a “kiss on the paw” is not as good as salmons–you are a funny bear!! I don’t think you have to worry about Giovanni being a dieting bear–she is just nervous–just like you. When she meets you properly, she will find out what a charming bear you are and her heart will melt. Please thank Mervi for me for doing such a good job helping you to write your thoughts. And please also thank all the photographers for their excellent pictures.

    Hugs, Sarsam
