Ewa and Willbär are waiting for the snow

I have a great pleasure to be a messanger and bring you greetings  from Pernilla in Orsa. Ewa and Wilbär are doing fine and are gaining weight all the time. Wilbär now weighs 245 kilos and Ewa 230 kilos.

The first snow flakes have fallen down in Orsa but the snow melted away immediately. It’s already very cold during the nights and the snow gun is ready to be used for building up the ‘ice berg’. Orsa Grönklitt is also a popular winter sport resort and skiing tracks are soon being prepared. At the same time they’ll start building the ice berg in the polar bears’ enclosure. Pernilla thinks they can start the building in a week or two.

The Kamtjatka bears have already ‘gone to bed’ and the brown bears are preparing their winter sleep. Otherwise everything’s fine in Orsa and everybody’s excited about Ewa’s and Wilbär’s first birthdays in their new home.

    Thank you for your greetings and the lovely photos. I hope there will be snow soon so our fluffy friends can enjoy all kinds of winter sports. I’m sure they’ll invent some new disciplines! :-)

    Dear Mervi, please bring my regards to Pernilla for keeping us updated about Willbär and Ewa. And yes, while reading her words, I realized that they are indeed closer to the northpole than I and already can look forward to snaw. Brrr, made me need my “kersenpitje”.

    Wow! These bears look fantastic – full of health, love for each other and just loving life in general. Even Ewa who was a bit thin at the beginning looks chubby and contented. I can’t believe that my cute little Wilbar is already 245 kilos!! This report adds such a lift to my day. Thanks so Mervi!
