Dear friends! Let me tell you it isn’t easy to be a world famous polar bear having everybody’s eyes on you all the time. I mean even a celebrity like me needs some privacy – especially now that I’m trying to establish a relationship with a polar bear girl.
It’s been some tough days for me but also for Gianna. She’s not used to big crowds of visitors and those press people with their cameras focused on us from the early morning to late in the evening.
Some visitors had the nerve to call me a coward. A coward? Moi? No way – I’ve only been trying to be nice and gentle. After all I’m a modern polar bear who understands that you can’t win a girl’s heart by being pushy!

Oh yes, I was talking about the crowds…. Sometimes I only want to show them my behind….
But then I remember that my visitors really love me and they only want the best for me.
Gianna managed to steal my pumpkin and she wanted this carot, too. Well, I told her it’s an orange cigar and that did the trick! Luckily she doesn’t smoke.
Hihihi….Am I clever or am I clever??
As you see we can at least tolerate each other even if we haven’t ‘a thing going on’….not yet anyway. Besides – I’ve heard there are other babes ‘on the market’ – one shouldn’t choose just anybody…..
Have you seen my tapir imitation? Uncle Hartmuth thinks my imitation is brilliant.
A beautiful polar bear must be white, fluffy and roundish. Well, ‘white’ is very relative don’t you think?
I think I must remind you again about one thing. A growing bear needs lots of calories and now we are two growing bears in my enclosure. I demand that the portions must be at least doubled – even better if they were three doubled!!
No, I’m not giving any pawographs today.
Excuse me but now I need a ‘nickerchen’. Oh boy, am I exhausted….

Dear Knut, we all know that smoking is extremely unhealthy, but cheating a girl is not nice either. So next time, you simply left her have that carrot sigar. Most probably, she will appreciate that gesture.

Carrot smoking is illegal and dangerous to your health. We know you have been under stress with this ‘relationship’ business, digs sharing legalities and all those cameras following you around but you can’t give in to temptation. If you must really smoke, try a turnip and don’t inhale.

Dear Knut — I agree with K-J, you are doing splendidly–just great! And just think, she looks like a girl that likes to play–I’ll bet you can have a lot of fun playing with her this fall and winter. You just have to teach her how to play with your toys. They are very different from her toys so she can benefit from your experience. I hear she has made a start with your board.
