Yes you are right. It is a panda born in captivity which ensures that we will still be able to watch pandas in the zoos, hopefully even in the distant future.
If I am not mistaken, Hua Mei of SDZ was the first &quot;panda&quot; ambassador between China and the USA. Since her birth her mother Bai Yun has given birth to four more babies, 2 boys and girls. One girl will have to depart for China soon in order to fulfil her destiny, i.e. benefit the existing gene pool. Currently Yun Zi is the baby who recently turned six months old.</description>
