Dear UliS,

Thank you for another inspiring story. There are people who "have a way with animals." And many of these are children. Call it love, an open mindedness to others, whatever--it does occur. I have seen several anecdotes telling about humans (many times children) being able to bond with other species. My husband is one of them--when he was 4 years old, he was friends with a bull ("Ike")--the adults were afraid to be close to the bull. My husband would to right into his stall in the barn and walk around him, petting him and talking to him. Ike enjoyed the friendship and never offered to hurt the child. He would hold his head at just the right angle to get scratched!

Dear UliS,
this is a very nice story (nearly unbelievable). However, as Mervi has already mentioned, there is friendship involved as a simple explanation. The secret seems to be the girl's natural behavour towards the animals.
Thank you very much for this nice article.
