Minding my manners

Hello friends! My Daddy always pointed out that good manners are very important for a popular bear like me.  Since I always remember what Daddy told me I’m telling you something about my table manners this time.

Hehe…. the cute face alone doesn’t make a KNUT…..

As you have seen in all the photos I’m a very skilful food catcher but when I’m treated with big yammy salmons – well, then I have to think about how to eat it. I always carry it to my dinner table. I’m hoping I will soon have a matching table cloth, too!

I try not to eat too fast but it’s difficult. You see, salmons are soooo delicious!

Oooops, not much left…..

The British royalties are told ‘to always leave something to Lady Manners’ but i think it’s waste of good food. Don’t you agree? OK, I can leave something. A carot maybe….

I carry it to a place where Gianna can find it. Hihihiii…. she thinks she’s Lady Manners.

After the dinner it’s time for pawicure.

Although – however hard I try to clean my paws Gianna always smells the fish.

The paw cleaning goes on…..

…. and then I just relax and have a little nap.

That nap didn’t last so long because Gianna wanted to play ‘catch me if you can’.

It’s such a pleasure to see my personnel working to keep my enclosure clean and tidy.  I could spend hours watching Uncle Marcus….

He’s a jolly good fellow!

Look what I’ve got here. A lovely T-shirt to play with!

It’s also very useful as protection against the strong sun rays.

The T-shirt serves me as a night cap as well.

Now you know that I’m a nice, well mannered bear with reliable personnel. What more could one ask??

Greetings from your pal Knuti

  1. Good morning on a grey and not May-like-weather’s “father’s day”, dear MERVI. It’s the 13th in addition! but luckily not a Friday. I don’t mind those 13th of a month predictions of bad destiny and risky events anyway . Sometimes the sun is even shining on a 13th without being seen, e.g. when such a nice article accompanied by lovely pictures of our dearest bear KNUTi is being published. Thanks for the unexpected joy to you, dear Mervi, because of the charming text and to your court-photographers as well :-)

  2. Dear Knut,

What a lovely story and photos that depict you before, during and after your munch-down of a salmon. Knut, if I tell you how speedily I sometimes devour a tasty article, like chocolate, I have to tell you that I completely understand the quick disappearance of the fish. It goes with the territory. We humans have some things in common with Ursus maritimus. Don’t be ashamed of your good appetite. And WOW — what a nice fresh salmon! I’m so glad you have an “in” with someone, or that it happened to be the day of your special visitor, or that it was Father’s Day, or whatever. Knut, you are one cool polar bear. Hihihi, I’m even kind of glad that Gianna didn’t get a bite [but, that's just between you and me]. hihihi

    Your pal,

    Tish

To Mervi, Doris & Jessie: Excellent story & photos! Bear Hugs.

  3. Dearest Knuti, I have no doubt you are the most well-mannered, gentlemanly bear in the universe. Your Papi taught you well, afterall, he was a very fine man. You’re the best!

  4. Dear Knuti, I have seen you managing your lunch during a few occassions and I must say that I was always impressed on how neatly you can do this, espcially when it comes to salmons and grapes. By the way, i wonder whether your auntie Doris realized that she made great pics of your new growing beard. Quite sure that she must adore it!!

  5. Dear Mervi, dear Doris!
Thank you for the lovely story and the pictures.
    Hugs

  6. Dear Mervi,
Well, you’ve done it again…..you know the bear so well, Mervi….and Doris’ pictures are as wonderful as ever….I love the one with the t-shirt on his head to protect from sun rays–isn’t he a clever bear?!

Dear Knuti, You are not only the most handsome bear in the world; you are also the most polite!
