A very unexpected sight met Barbara Ericsson – a 71 years old lady – in her patio in Porter Ranch in California. First she saw traces of a bear on the ground and when she looked up she saw a bear sitting in the pine tree. Obviously the bear couldn’t get down…..

She called the rescue service and soon 40 fire men, police and animal experts were there trying to rescue the distressed bear.

‘Don’t kill him’

- Don’t you dare to kill him!’ Barbara Ericsson said to the fire men according to Daily Mail.

And the rescuing crew kept it’s word. They estimated the age of the bear about 2 years. He was named Yogi by the crowd that had gathered to follow the rescue action.

A tranquilizer was shot but it only made the bear climb even higher in the tree. However, after a while the ‘sleeping pill’ med him dizzy and after another 10 minutes Yogi fell off the tree. Luckily the fall about 4 meters was soft – there was a thick matress waiting for him to land.

When Yogi was still under influence of the tranquilizer he was driven to the mountain terrain where he woke up after half an hour.

Knuti’s Weekly wishes Yogi a good life in the forest. Hopefully he has learnt his lesson and won’t be climbing too high…

  6. Another sweetheart Yog(h)i. Thanks for the story. This Yogi is also so cute one liked to pick him up and take him at home (which would be the stupiest thing – I am fully aware of this, anyway…).
