Welcome to the Club of the Poor Housewives

No desperate housewives, naughty housewives real or not, but poor housewives. As the Dutch Mira Ahles calls herself, and after her by now famous tweet “Why bombs always explode in my house? The response was overwhelming. “I always thought I was the only one for not having my house clean. Well, I was wrong,” says the woman.
The number of women in the same situation as she was so overwhelming that it was decided to set up a club, a club of poor Housewives. There are now 300 members, 30 bloggers and the media attention is growing in both Belgium and the Netherlands.

The slogan chosen by them is not one to ignore “a clean house is a sign of a wasted life (a clean house is a sign of a wasted life).

“This club is for all women who dare to admit they are not perfect housewives. Because they just can not do it, or do not like it, or do not make a priority of it, can not live without their maid or where it is just always a mess. Some women find this very fine and proud, the other is still diligently looking for tips to change this. ”

Does it welcome, that women themselves are no longer the (impossible) perfect housewife role attribute, or not? Criticism was not long absent. It really sounds more like that the average housewife continues to believe in a perfectly maintained home. All you have to do is stop with Facebook and Twitter … . The reactions of most men align with this view (of course !!!!).

Four on a row

vittiger

In the Serengeti Park in Hodenhagen (Germany), 4 little white tigers were born one month ago. This means a serious growth for the family, since there are only 250 white tigers worldwide.

A sweet Sumatra tiger born in Eskilstuna Zoo in Sweden

Two weeks ago the Sumatra tiger Tornado gave birth to a cub. The zoo in Eskilstuna is the only zoo in Sweden with these tigers so this was really a big event! Now there’s a whole family – mama Tornado, papa Bagus and the little one.

Even if the little cub just opened his eyes he’s already curiously examining his environment. Mama Tornado is busy keeping an eye on her ‘explorer’.

‘I think we’re going to call him Wayan – it means The First Born and suits him very well’, Helena Olsson, the Chief of the Eskilstuna Zoo says.

SAY BEEAARR!!!, SAYS FINN

finnfocus

It seems that Finn has had a great time with the camera of a tourist, who paid him a visit in Bern. Just at the moment that she wanted to take a picture of Finn, she dropped her camera. Finn immediately confiscated the thingie and started to chew on it and completely destroyed it. He looked like a child that just got a new toy to play with.

Zebra + Donkey = Zedonk

In a nature sanctuary in North Georgia in USA there is a new born foal whose mother is a donkey and father a zebra. Zedonk was born a few days ago and looks like a donkey except the striped legs which it inherited from the father.

BEARY-BOY TAKES A RIDE?

In Colorado, a bear opened a car that was not locked because he was attracted by the delicious smells of a peanut butter sandwich. In one or another way, beary-boy has activate the acceleration of the car and had a ride of about 40 meters. Reportedly, beary-boy did horn like crazy during his pleasure ride that ended in the bushes. But that was not the end of the adventure. Somehow, the doors were locked and beary-boy was trapped. Nonetheless, the police was able to unlock and open the door by using a long rope. And now the family has to look for another car, because beary-boy completely destroyed the interior and also left a big (AHEM) turd.

Stille Post

VON BÄRCHEN UND BLÜMCHEN IN BERLIN

Was macht eigentlich Knut?

Silent  Post

FROM LITTLE BEARS AND FLOWERS IN BERLIN

How is Knut doing? For Germany’s Cuddle Bear No. 1 it is getting cool around his heart.

The reason ist hat his enclosure fellow (not his cell fellow) will be moving into the newly designed polar bear enclosure in Tierpark Hellabrunn.

Then Knut  will be left with his fan community in Berlin ( in the early summer the visitor No.  10 Mio has been greeted).

Gianna (3) and Yogi (11) are to be mated in Bavaria.

So far, Knut, who is going to be 4 years in December, has denied all of Giovanna’s advances.

„He prefers chasing butterflies”, says Zoo-Curator Heiner Klös.

As if having butterflies in his stomach. Knut is not mature yet.

Someday he will learn about little bears and little flowers

BEAR ENTERS HOUSE, TAKES A SNACK and STEALS A TEDDYBEAR !!

stealingbear

A bear entered a house in New Hampshire, ate two pears and grapes and took a good sip out of the fish bowl. Apparently, it seems that the front door was open and so, beary-boy invited himself and went straight to the kitchen. As from the moment, he heard the opening of the garage door, he escaped, but took a teddy bear of one of the kids of the house with him.

  1. Dear Patricia,

Congratulations! You’re the contributor Numero Uno in this new column. Herr Knuti is very pleased.

Maybe the poor bear couldn’t sleep without a teddy….:D

  3. Dear Alex,

This was such a nicely written little story about Knuti who still prefers butterflies to birds and the bees :D I’m sure Knuti wishes Giovanna best of luck in Munich and hopes she will be happy with a more mature guy like Yoghi.

    Hugs from Mervi

  4. Dear Alex, voilà, you have delivered proof of evidence: Knuti still needs to learn a lot about the birds and the bees. but when the right time is there, he will surely know everything about it.

  9. Patricia,

My fellow countryman Finn seems to be a true ‘man of the forest’ :-) I must admit I’d like to do the same with my camera when it doesn’t work ….. hmmm, mostly it doesn’t work because I’ve forgotten to charge the battery….

    Greetings from Mervi

  10. Dear Patricia,
although Finn seems to have a lot of fun with the thingie, I am worried that the material could be harmful for the bear, e.g. the battery which is full of poison.
Thanks again for yur contribution which makes and keeps this column so lively.
    Hugs from caren

  11. Dear Mervi, it is a good idea to make a column where everyone can post a little story.
