In Mai war ich in Wuppertal und habe einige Bilder mitgenommen. Wir erlebten einige bezaubernde Momente in der Zoo. Vilma – die ich zum ersten Mal sah – ist, genau wie Jerka, eine Eisbärin der mir gleich am Herzen ist gegangen.
In May I visited Zoo Wuppertal and brought some pictures along. We had some magical moments in the Zoo. Vilma – who I saw for the first time – is, just like Jerka, a polar bear which conquered my heart in just a second.
Aber auch der Zoo ist mir sehr gut gefallen. Nach meiner letzte Besuch an Zoo Berlin in März hatte ich doch bestimmt das Gefühl, das Zoos für mich ihre Glanz verloren hatten. Aber jetzt habe ich erfahren, das wenn man den Eindruck bekommt das es den Tiere gut geht (und ich denke: den meisten Tiere geht es gut in Wuppertal), der Zoo wieder wie früher eine besondere Erlebnis sein kann.
But also the zoo enchanted me. After my last visit to Zoo Berlin in March I had the distinct feeling, that zoos hat lost their lustre for me. But these last days I experienced, that when you get the impression that the animals are well (and I think: most animals in Wuppertal are doing well), a zoo visit again can be an exceptional experience.
Wie gesagt, es gab bezaubernde Momente, aber auch dramatische. Ein Drama, das zuerst sehr, sehr Schlimm aussah, endete glücklicherweise gut. Ein richtiges “Wunder von Wuppertal” war es. In kurzen Zeit hoffe ich ihr mehr darüber zu erzählen.
As said, there were magical moments, but also dramatic ones. A drama which enfolded which at first looked very, very grave, fortunately came to a good end. It was a real “Miracle of Wuppertal”. In a short while I hope to tell you more about it.
Eine Ente wuselte sich frohlich ins Wasser.

Diese Affe verenkte seine Rücke um mich zu sehen, ein Besucher. Eigentlich sollte es umgekehrt sein!

Zwei alte Freunde der man fast immer begegnet auf der Weg zu Lars und Vilma.

When ich ankam, schwam Lars frohlich durch das Wasserbecken.
When I arrived, Lars was happily swimming in the water.
Das Bild ist nicht so gut gelungen wegen die Scheibe, aber: Ist das eine liebe Eisbärin oder ist das eine liebe Eisbärin?
The Photo did not turn out very well because of the glass, but: Is this a lovable polar bear or is this a lovable polar bear?
Man kan in Wuppertal den Pinguine beim Tauchen beobachten. Das bietet spektakuläre Bilder.
In Wuppertal you can actually see the pinguins dive. That offers some spectacular sights.
Während das Seelöwen-Diner begrüsst Mylo den Besucher durch der Mikrophon.
At the beginning of the seals dinner, Mylo greets the visitors through the mike.

Sie kam an die Scheibe und wollte Streicheleinheiten von mir durchs Glas. Wir haben eine ganze Zeit gekuschelt.
She came to the window and wanted me to caress her. We cuddled for quite some time.
Das ist die fast 43-Jährige Epulu. Wollte sie mir sagen das ich noch viel zu lernen habe?
This is almost 43 year old Epulu. Did she mean to tell me I still have a lot to learn?

Lieber Frans, Deine Fotos sind einfach umwerfend! So viel Bewegung drin, so viele amüsante Bemerkungen dazu. Und gerade die Fotos, die Du in Deinem (Foto-)Perfektionismus als “schlecht” bezeichnest, finde ich auch SEHR gut, z.B. das von ‘VILMA im Wasser’ durch die Scheibe aufgenommene. // Zumindest für mich ganz individuell, ist bei der Betrachtung/Beurteilung eines Fotos nicht “gestochen scharf” das ultimative Kriterium, sondern ob es etwas ‘aussagt’, und das tun DEINE Fotos immer. Also: ruhig öfter Mut, auch SCHEINBAR nicht so perfekte Deiner Fotos zu zeigen! // Vielen Dank für diesen schönen Beitrag.

Lieber Frans,
Du hast wirklich alle Tiere in Wuppertal besucht. Du hast bestimmt bemerkt, dass Mylo und seine Damen kein Mikrophon brauchen, man hört sie schon am Eingang. Er wollte nur mit der netten Pflegerin flirten.
Tschuna und Daseep sind wunderschön. Ich hoffe sie im August zu sehen. Lars und Vilma sind meine Favoriten.
