Vilma und Lars Zusammen – Vilma and Lars Together

Es ist schön einfach die beiden zu beobachten bei das Zusammensein. Sicher, das Gehege ist zu klein, auch wenn den Pfleger alles tun was möglich ist um Lars und Vilmas Alltag zu animieren. Aber, Glück bei Unglück, beide Tiere scheinen sich gut zu verstehen. Und dann kan man, auch in ein kleines Haus, ein glückliches Leben haben. Bei Menschen ist das so, bei Eisbären hoffe ich es: was das eine Saugetier kan, kan das andere auch!
Den folgenden Bilder zeigen, ohne Worte, ein kleines Bisschen von das Zusammensein von Lars und Vilma.
It is a pleasure to watch both animals just being together. Sure, the resort is too small, even though the animal keepers do their utmost to bring variation to Lars’ and Vilma’s daily life. Fortunately, the animals seem to like each other. And when that is the case, you can have a good life, even though the house is small. That goes for humans, and I hope also for polar bears: what one mammal can do, the other can do as well!

Your photos are always awesome but this time you’ve overdone yourself! What did you do to make Lars and Vilma pose for you so nicely?
The face studies are fantastic – my favourites this time is the one with Lars’ head behind Vilma’s (simply great!) and that of the smiling Lars. On second thought – all the photos are my favourites!

Lieber Frans!
Ich hätte Lars und Vilma ein schöneres Gehege gewünscht. Leider im Moment haben sie nur eine kleine Wohnung. Lars sieht sehr imposant aus. Vielleicht sehe ich ihn in Wuppertal einfach näher, als in Berlin. Ich habe aber den Eindruck, dass Lars zugenommen hat. Vilma ist immer noch schlank. Lars und Vilma sehen zufrieden aus.
