Vanity Fair in the Berlin Zoo

What happens in a zoo on a beautiful Autumn day? I haven’t been able to visit the Berlin zoo since April but today I suddenly felt like being there again…..
While I was watching Monika’s photos they started talking to me and all of a sudden I heard this conversation:
Tosca: Nancy, are you scratching your boomsie against that stone?
Nancy (looking very offended): What kind of question is that? I’m doing something the beauty parlours call ‘peeling’ or ‘exfoliation’.
Tosca: Well, I certainly hope you’re not peeling off your fur …. What’s next? A bikini vax?? Hi hi hii….. These stupid things are for humans – not for decent bears!
Nancy: You can laugh now but just wait and see how white and fluffy I’m going to be!
Tosca: If you continue like that you’ll be black and bald!!
Nancy: OK, I’ll take it easy and have a pawicure instead.
Tosca: Kati, what are you doing? I hope you’re not ‘peeling’ as well.
Kati: Oh no, I have no time with such nonsense! I’m studying English but that language is impossible to pronounce. Try to say ‘the’ – you have to put the tongue between your teeth…… my tongue is totally twisted now!
Tosca: Good luck you stubborn woman! All those efforts just to please a certain gentleman…. Why can’t you just growl like all the other bears?
Tosca: Heeelp, I’ve gained so much weight again! I must put myself on diet….. Thank God we bears have a lovely fur so I don’t have to worry about too tight clothes…..
… that food looks sooo yammy!
Tosca: I have always thought it’s a sin to throw away good food …..
… so maybe I’ll have at least a teeny weeny bite…..
Tosca: Hello little fellow, I try to leave a little something for you.
Nancy: Dear Tosca, diets are for human sissies so come and have a delicious ‘Rosinenbrot’. Diet – what rubbish!! Kati, don’t you agree?
Kati: Oh yes, there’s nothing like a hearty meal – it keeps my grey cells active and hopefully makes my tongue work in an ‘English way’, hihii….
Nancy: You can do your tongue exercises but I think I’m going to have a nap.
Tosca: My hair is a mess, I just have to wash it!
Luckily we have a big basin here. Well, this should do the trick.
I feel better already and – if you don’t mind my saying so myself – I think I look quite gorgeous! – Thank you for the applause!!
Tosca: Nancy, I think I join you and have a nap, too but please, let my ears be! I will soon look like Herr Anton in Stuttgart if you go on licking them.
Tosca: Dear friends, isn’t it great to be singles again! That fellow called Troll was a real man chauvinist and far too old to learn anything. Oh, now I feel really tired …. yawn, yawn…… Long live the Golden Girls’ Lib! …. yawn….. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

MERVI: I really enjoyed the conversation you had with The Golden Girls. I guess all girls are similar, be they human or polar bear. We all care about our hair, weight and looking good. Thank you for letting us listen in on your visit.

Maybe Troll is smarter than the golden girls think. Manicures, diets and hairdos multiplied by three would be too much for any man.

you are so right, bears do talk. Those people who say we are crazy enough to believe that, simply do not listen. Further bears do not speak to everybody !

Kati und Englisch ist eine Sache. Naja, Eisbaeren nutzen mehr Koerpersprache. Mund

Hihihi ~ what those Golden Girls reflect on ~ seems to parallel the 2-legged creatures.
I googled for the Brasilian bikini wax, as, well, I needed to know ~ seems this is an inconvenience the bear, er, the 2-legged endures for the other sex, and here is my link (not for the faint of heart):

Noting the male responses, I’m thinking they are in concord that Troll is no longer in the picture.

It is good to laugh again…a little girl talk with the Golden Girls can light up my day anytime. The banter here is hilarious. I guess these girls can’t get over Lars can they? No one can ever take his place….he is a living legend…..but Troll is a nice guy too.
Dear Mervi, this was finally the first story I could read and it made my evening. HIHIHIHIHI!!! Only you can invent such conversations. Tosca’s way of washing her hair is maybe drastic, but it just helps! By the way, while reading the story, I couldn’t help but replaced the names of the bear ladies by three human ladies I know very well (and no no, I am not going to disclose who is who) because I love my boomsie.
