Report from my visit in the Copenhagen Zoo January, 20th, 2012.

First I visited my own little garden by the zoo, and there was this little wonderful bird.

Then I passed a wonderful tree on my way to the brown bears and Noel and Boris.

Inge3

One brown bear was enjoying the wonderful weather.

Inge4

Noel was a sleeping beauty ….

Inge5

…. and Boris was making fitness – walking.

Inge6

Inge7

Also the tigers enjoyed relaxing.

Inge8

Next came the ant eaters. There are three – the parents and a big cub. They enjoyed eating.

Inge10

On my way to the lion-family I passed the owls being trained and the camels.

And then came the big lion-family with the two lionesses Emma and Esmeralda and the male Oleg and their cubs. And they have just had food in the enclosure and were looking for it everywhere. So the whole family were seeking here, there and everywhere.

By the lion-enclosure there is a little tower and from there you can see the work on the new Polar bear enclosure.

Finally I went back to my little garden and took a picture of “my” peacock. A beauty, I think.

  1. Dear Inge,

Oh boy, the lion cubs have grown a lot since I saw them last Summer! What a lovely family they are.

I can hardly wait to see the new polar bear enclosure when it’s ready for Boris, Noel and even Valeska to move in there! It will be a wonderful home for them.

Your peacock looks very majestetic and he seems to be aware of his good looks :-)

    Hugs from Mervi

  2. Dear Inge,

Thank you for sharing your visit with us! That lion family is amazing. Could you, when you have the time, tell us more about the new polar bear resort? I wasn’t aware they were building a new one in Copenhagen, but probably I missed something.
    Lovely picture of that ant-eater!

    Kind regards,
    Frans

  3. Dear Inge,
what a wonderful Zoo, wonderful weather and so lovely animals!
The lion family is really a very big one.

The installation site reminds me of the one in Hellabrunn. When you see it you can hardly imagine that it will ever get ready. Boris and Noel will have a nice home then, I am sure.

You can be very proud of your lovely homezoo.
Thank you so much for sharing these lovely pictures with us!

    Hugs from caren

  5. Liebe Inge,
    Dear Mervi,
thanks for the report and picture from Inge.
    Bear Hugs
    Gudrun

  6. Inge…

What a wonderful visit to your garden and to the zoo! It looks like Noel and Boris will have a wonderful new home… and, in the meantime, how lovely to see a very relaxed Noel and Boris getting his exercise!

The lion family is beautiful… it seems fitting, seeing them, that a group of lions is called a “pride,” doesn’t it?

It was fun to see the tigers, the brown bear, the camel, the anteater and the owl as well… and both the small and large feathered friends you encountered in the garden!

Thank you for a lovely visit in Copenhagen…

    Hugs,
    Susan

  7. Hallo Inge

Das Rotkehlchen ist wunderschön – ich liebe Rotkehlchen. :)
Die Löwenfamilie in Kopenhagen ist beeindruckend.
    Alle sind friedlich zusammen.
    Danke für die Reportage.

    Liebe Grüsse
    Crissi

  8. Dear Inge – What an interesting report you presented us here! Your photos are beautiful and show animals that give the impression to be contented. Lots of lions! Do you think they have got enough space? Most probably yes, as they look like a family in harmony . . . Your little garden seems to be a paradise, as it attrackts such lovely birds. Is it a “Rotkehlchen”. How did you manage to get a shot of its flight? Super!
Thank you. Looking forward to the pleasure of being able to watch and read your next report/s.

  9. Liebe Inge,

  10. Dear Inge!
I like the lion family :)
    Hugs
    Ludmila

  11. Dear all
Thank you for your nice words about Copenhagen Zoo and the pictures.

I shall later write about the new polarbearenclosure.

The Rotkelchen (Rødkælk in Danish) lives in my garden every winter, it is a bit tame. Comes often quite near and is sitting on the doorstep. The peacock knows me well, When he sees me, he thinks FOOD. He is eating from my hand. In the spring I also have a little female duck coming – going into my little house.

    Have a nice sunday.

    Hugs Inge

  12. Dear Inge,
Thank you for sharing your zoo visit with us…

I very much like the sweet bird in your garden
    as well as your peacock…

Aren’t you lucky to live close to your zoo to
visit all those animals (especially the bears!)

  13. Liebe Annemarie,

    Monika
