Malik’s cubs have now got their names – Nuka and Qilak. There has been a voting and these two names were voted as most suitable for the sweeties. Malik hasn’t commented the names yet …. 🙂

Although both girls could be called ‘La Donna é mobile’ there are moments when it feels best to be close to mama.

Of course, we must take a little break now and then to say ‘hello’ to our visitors.

  1. Milak means Little wave in Greenland native language. It is a male
name because when Victoria pushed Milak in for her first swim and
she made a “little wave” and was still thought to be male.
Nuka modifies to mean little and Quinak modifies to mean big according
to the sources. I think that are nice short names

  2. Dear Mervi.
I think the names are not bad. Malik’s girls are lovely.
    Hugs
    Ludmila

  3. NUKA and QILAK are nice sounding names! Most probably of ‘Indian language’!?
However I – and most probably more ‘of us’ – will also always think of RALPH’s girl friends,
when seeing those handsome and lovable PB-girls.

Ther isn’t any matching name for all the cuteness those two little rascals do spread!

Big compliment to the one ore the ones who took the lovely photos of these unique models!

Unfortunately the video does switch to a FB-site and say (to me) ‘Video nicht verfuegbar!’.

Thank you, dear MERVI for having brought this charming family and the good news to us.
And ‘Thanks!’ to RALPH for his explanation of the meaning of the two names.

  4. Dear Mervi!

Oft course, You both are soooo cute!
Your names are beautiful and I am Sure, your Mum has her own names for You.
Thank You Mervi for these lovely News!

    Greetings, Erika

  5. Dear Mervi

    I like both names ! 🙂
I am happy, that the Zoo in Aalborg
has given useful photo- and video material.
The bears are growing fast and look very healthy
and active. Mother Malik can be proud of her “Racker”.

    Greetings
    Chris 🙂

  7. Liebe Mervi,

    Britta-Gudrun

  8. Dear Mervi!
Thank you for bringing us the lovely pics, the lively videos and last but not least the informations about the names of Malik´s cutie pies, Nuka and Qilak. They sound good and I will get used to them, as always.
I like the explanations by Ralph about their meanings: big and little, although meanwhile the cubbies have nearly the same size. They are sweet little rascals thats for sure.

    Hugs
    Anke

  11. Liebe Mervi,
