8.7.2017 – Photos by Marko Junttila, Ranua Wildlife Zoo

Hello again! As you’ve hopefully noticed I lent this leading place for my grandma Vienna for a few days but now I’m back!

Our park has turned green just as my mama promised. I was beginning to doubt her words but she was right. My mama is a very clever polar bear! There are lots of visitors coming to meet me and my parents – and, naturally, even all the other inhabitants in the Ranua Zoo.

Mama and I are the best friends and a tender kiss every now and then is simply a ‘must’. 🙂

It’s the early bear that catches the fish! Mama is a very good catcher ….

………. but even I get my fair share!

Now the pool calls!! This time of the year the pool is our castle! 🙂

I think you agree with me when I say that I’m very satisfied with the pedicure! My paws look perfect!

Marko takes such beautiful and exciting photos! Look at the water – doesn’t it look fantastic!

Hey, I found something in the water …. is it possibly a bread loaf?

Or maybe it’s a big piece of meat? I must taste it!

I have cleaned my ears!

And my nose is as shining black as always!

Summer shower with mama

I love showers! 🙂

Time again for a tender moment. We can hear the visitors saying ‘aaaaawh’ and ‘oooowh’ and we also see them taking lots of photos of us. Well, we like to pose for our friends!

Enough of cuteness! I think it’s time for some action!

Oh bear, I found a black tyre! Maybe my papa sent it to us ….

I’m a real Formula 1 Bear don’t you agree? 🙂

Mama wants to play with the tyre, too. Well, I guess I just have to share it with her.

My days are very busy. For the time being mama and I spend most of the time in the water. It’s so COOL!

Before I say ‘bye bye’ I want to show you a couple of pics of my friends.

Here’s Jemma eating a snack ….

… and having a sip of water in the bar. Luckily this bar is always open. 🙂

I like this European mink. Who wouldn’t?

This is not a black sheep but a black rabbit! 🙂

The wolverine has just finished his dinner.

There are many sweet calves in our zoo – here’s one of them.

Everybody loves this beautiful calf.

Have to run now before it gets dark! Hahahaa, just kidding – it doesn’t get dark here this time of the year. The white nights will continue until August when the Summer will slowly turn into Fall.

I wish you all a wonderful July! You’re all very welcome to visit me and my friends in Ranua!

Your pal Nalle

  1. QUOTE: “Marko takes such beautiful and exciting photos!”
    I do fully agree!

Your comments/subtitles for sure did origin in your godmother’s (MERVI’s) brains. Am I right?
    Isn’t she a gifted writer and story-teller – and just a perfect godmother !?
May I tell you she is fallen deeply in love with you and with everything around you!

WHITE is beautiful but didn’t beautiful mother VENUS tell you the truth when she told you
that GREEN is beautiful as well!?

Your kiss-exchanges iwth Mama are just Hollywood-style (filmreif!).
Do you know that some days ago there was ‘the day of the KISS’!?
At a posssible competition who’s the best kisser you would have had a fair chance to win!!

Did Mama catch the fish alive??? – – – ‘…faire share’!? – – hmmmmm . . . Your paws are pawicured perfectly, indeed but I am convinced they are even most beautiful in a 100% nature-condition, even with traces of mud 🙂

Swimming in fresh water and having water showers in summer is perfect fun, isn’t it!?

Hadn’t we known it already by now, we would have get aware that you are a RIGHT POLAR BEAR
when we saw you playing with the biiiiig tyre! 😉

What lovable neighbor animals you have got! Nearly as beautiful and lovely/lovable as you !!! 😉 🙂

Thanks to anybody involved in this contribution!
It was fun to read and watch!

  2. Dear Mervi and dear Marko!
These are fantastic pics indeed – and a vivid and humorous story around!
Thank you for bringing them to us.

Nalle is having so much fun in the water, even with a probably massy tyre.
It would be so cool when every polar bear in a zoo could play in clear water like that!
It´s obvious Nalle already found out, like his mother predicted, that spring and summer in Orsa could be nice too…

Nalle is a sweetie pie, but there are some cuties – pretty Jemma, the little black rabbit, the charming mink and the long-legged reindeer calf for instance – in the neighbourhood too.
I wish them all a wonderful summertime!

  3. Dear Mervi & Marco,

    Such beautiful photos!

    A pure delight!

    Thank you both!

  6. Dear Mervi!
Thank you for the wonderful from Ranua. I see that the snow is away. Everything is green. Venus and her son look great. The play with the tyre reminds me on Raspi 🙂

  10. Dear Nalle, Mervi and Marko
    The pictures and story from
Ranua are delightful. It is always
clear that the animals are well
looked after Of course the pictures
of Nalle with his mum are
    very special for me.

  15. Dear Mervi and Dear Marko, thank you for sharing these pics with us. Nalle is such a lovely young polar bear boy (and from the bottom of my heart, I really hope that he is getting this name because it is fitting him perfectly well – So Dear Marko, if ever you have a voice in the decision-making process ….). His diving skills are great (and so his pedicure – sweet paws, no?). And my other favorite of these pics is the black rabbit.

  16. Dear Mervi, dear Marko,

what kind of wonderful pictures to a fantastic story. It’s so nice to see that everything is fine with Nalle and his Mom. She fully takes good care of him.

Thanks so lot and many bear hugs to Malmö and Ranua.
