Nordi and Shauna – two happy clowns

16.9.2019 – Photos by Arkadij Laptenko

It’s not easy to catch Gerda, Shauna and Nordi in a photo but here’s one. I wonder what caught this nice family’s interest. Maybe they saw Arkadij with his camera and decided to pose nicely? 🙂

Enough of posing! Now it’s play time! Come and join me!

I found a perfect way to hide myself from mama!

Let me show you some of my tricks …. Am I not smart balancing the ‘thingie’ on my nose tip?

Water ballet for you

A new species? A polar unicorn? 🙂

The red cone is one of the favourite toys for Shauna and Nordi.

Carrying the cone in my mouth and waving my paw at the same time takes it’s bear!!

Hi there Sis, don’t you remember that mama told us to share our toys?

Just a sec, brother – I want to present my skils, too!

Here we go! If there were judges they would give me 10 points for this dive – I’m sure of that!

A perfect landing in the water and then some water ballet ….

Bear hug in the water

Hey, I would like to play with that white thingie, too!

Oh bear, my brother must be deaf – or he’s just selfish!!

Isn’t it my turn now?

Hmm, let me think for a while …

When the games get too wild mama Gerda has to calm down her kids.

Well, Shauna and Nordi know mama means well so no hard feelings. 🙂

Napping polar bear mama with her cubbies is one of the most wonderful sights in the world!

Let’s leave the polar bear family in the land of dreams now – but they’ll be back soon!

  2. Dear Mervi and Arkadij
The photos and words go together so well (I hope Arkadij is able to read the words too)
Gerda and her family are beautiful Polar Bears. Gerda knows how to keep them in order, but the loving family scenes remind us of why Polar Bears are so special. One minute Nordi and Shauna are all over the pool with their toys, the next they are safely back with Gerda.

  4. Nordi und Shauna are lovely twins.
Their energy seems to be endless.

  5. Dear Mervi and Akadij!
Thank you for this especially cute series of photos and the affectionate and humorous subtitles.
I´m quite touched when seeing these frisky cubs playing so happily and cuddling with their beautiful mother – though the enclosure is not exactly what we would want for them.
But nevertheless they seem to have everything that counts and the best time of their lives.
Gerda is an experienced and good mother for her little ones who are not so little anymore…
I can´t choose a favourite pic since I loved all of them.

  6. Dear Arkadij and Mervi!
Thank you for the wonderful pictures. Shauna and Nordi are 2 playful rascals. Sometimes Gerda has to lay down the law 🙂

  7. What incredible photos. Thank you. The kids are adorable.

  8. Liebe Mervi,

  10. Dear Arkadij and Mervi!

The twins have grown up and Mama Gerda is a cool mama.
Just adorable as the kids play with the red cone.

    Thanks for the great pictures.
