On the 17th of October the first snow fell in the Orsa Predator Center. Almost all the brown bears are already hibernating in their dens and on the 22nd even the last five bears decided it’s time for the Winter nap.

This one is enjoying the falling snow before retiring in the ‘bedroom’.

Wilbär took a last look at the Fall ….

Snow leopard looks especially beautiful in the snowy surroundings.

A face study of the Kodiak bear Taquka. I think he looks quite ‘macho’ in this photo. When I’ve seen him he looked very friendly. 🙂

The lynx has an excellent ‘camouflage outfit’. Can you find the beauty in this photo? Hmmm, playing hide and seek with this cat would be quite a challenge! 🙂

Knuti’s Weekly wishes the brownies sweet dreams and a happy Winter time to all the animals and the keepers in Orsa!

  1. Liebe Mervi,

  2. Dear Mervi!
Hopefully winter and snowfall will stay in northern Sweden and Finland a while longer but I´m happy for Hope, Ewa and Wilbär that they can enjoy their favourite season from now on.
The photo of the snow leopard is great. It proves how effective their camouflage is.
Taquka`s expression is quite scary. I hope his mood was getting better with the prospect of a cosy den…

I think I´ve found the lynx to the left of the rock but I´m not sure…

    Hugs
    Anke

  3. The bear in the video and in the pic ‘ORSA 6’ ist ‘ein Bild von einem Bären: top-knuffig und kraftvoll!

The pic of WILBĂ„R observing the last autumn colours across the pond is great, as mauch as the one is whre he shows this typical polar bear relaxed pose: wonderful!!

This image of the first falling snow is fairytale-like and very beautiful.

Hmm, I am afraid I am unable to etect the lynx in that last pic. Need HELP!

Thank you, ear MERVI, for keeping us informed about WILBEAR and this beautiful predator Center in ORSA.

  4. Thank you for the nice pictures.
Winter is knocking at the door.

  5. Liebe Mervi,

  6. Dear Mervi
Although this is a bear treat from Orsa, the photos of the Snow Leopard and the Lynx are also wonderful.
Taquka looks very serious. But Wilbaer in the snow is the Hammer!

  7. Liebe Mervi,

    Monika
