The zoos are opening their gates little by little but a lot of things have happened during the time they’ve been closed. In Hellabrunn the kunekune pig ladies have given birth to sweet babies.

Frieda had six babies ….

…. and Madame Lilly gave birth to no less than seven cuties!!

Every baby’s favourite hangout! 🙂

A study in cuteness

Would you like to play with me?

My heart has melted – and I guess your hearts are in a ‘risk zone’, too! 🙂

Have you ever seen a happier smile? 🙂

They don’t need a beauty nap but a nice nap is never wrong ….

Sweet dreams, sweetie!

  1. Dear Mervi, these piglets are amongs the lost lovely babies on earth. I remember a visit in Tierpark Berlin (2010 or 2011???) and there were lots of them frolicking around. One could spend hours just watching them and their antics. Their size fits in one’s hand but they are soo lively.

  2. Dear Mervi and Patricia
My father and his father taught me as a little boy to like and respect pigs. Both would greet them with a gruff “Pig, Pig Pig!” and were usually able to scratch a back or even an ear.
In Germany and many other countries they are considered lucky.

  3. Dear Mervi!
Thank you for “diese sĂĽĂźe Schweinerei!”
Little piggies are so cute and charming that everyone falls head over heels in love with them.
Some are even tempted to take them home and keep them as pets. But these people should think twice!
It is always astonishing that these tiny piglets grow up to mighty pigs within a few months…

Ralph, you are right: pigs, especially piglets are lucky symbols in Germany.

  4. Dear Mervi!
