Christmas fun for the animals in Hannover and Vienna
Dec 28th, 2020 | By mervi | Category: Christmas fun in the zoos28.12.2020 – Sources: Wien Zoo Schönbrunn, Erlebniszoo Hannover
The Christmas markets for humans were cancelled this year but in the Erlebniszoo Hannover the animals had a very nice market with nice decorations and lots of yammy treats.
The meerkats got a nice ginger bread house.
The coaties were busy opening the parcels.
Oh my, what a big parcel! It’s big enough to be a house for me!
The whole clan is thrilled by all the nice gifts.
The keepers surprised Milana and Nana with a beautiful Christmas tree.
Mama, take a look! There are so many eatable decorations!
Of course, the tree wasn’t standing too long …. 🙂
The gifts were far too delicious to be hanging on a tree!
No animal was forgotten!
Isn’t this a lovely sight!
Even in Vienna the keepers surprised their animals with Christmas trees.
A banana is just right for this fellow.
This is Finja enjoying her first Christmas. Last year she was too small to know what time it was.
The polar bears got big pieces of fresh fish for their Christmas dinner.
Knuti’s Weekly wishes all the animals and their keepers in all the zoos a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2021! Let’s hope the zoos can keep the gates open again!
Dear Mervi
What lovely treats for the animals in Hanover and Vienna.
Finja looks clean and shining white. Milana and Nana look as I remember them in September very round and muddy.
The keepers are very inventive and I am sure they are pleased to see that the animals of all sizes are occupied and curious aboutbthe Christmas treats.
Liebe Mervi,
Britta-Gudrun
It is so good to see how the majority (!?) of ZOOs/Tiergärten/Tierparks nowadays spoils its precious inhabitants with lots of nicely presented stuff – food and toys – at special occasions and even more or less regularly during all year.
Thank you very much, dear Mervi, for having brought those uplifting pics from the mentioned two zoos: ‘Erlebniszoo HANNOVER’ and ‘Tiergarten Schönbrunn VIENNA’, garnished with you own words.
Lovely animals, lovely actions, lovely decorations (compliments to all keepers involved!). These were really nice gifts – certainly yummy and so colourful: mere joy to watch in the grey period of the year.
Die Eis-Sterne und und die Obst- und Gemüseringe am Baum in Wien haben mir besonders gut gefallen und sie würden mir sogar bestimmt AUCH schmecken 😉
Witzig: beim mit “A banana is just right for this fellow.” überschriebenen Foto dachte ich beim ersten kurzen Hinsehen “Huff! Seit wann essen Gibbons STOßZÄHNE!??” ;-))))
Dear Mervi!
Thank you for this delightful post!
I am happy for all the zoo animals that have been pampered this way for Christmas and would like to thank the keepers for all their effort!
Like Dumba, I especially liked the Vienna Christmas tree decorations and stars.
But whether in Hannover, in Vienna, Berlin and everywhere else, the animals certainly appreciated these attentions.
Hugs
Anke
Dear Mervi!
I am glad that the animals in the zoo Hanover got many toys for Christmas.
