February greetings from Ranua
Feb 9th, 2021 | By mervi | Category: Featured articles9.2.2021 – Photos by Marko Junttila
When Marko visited the Ranua Wildlife Park on the 5th of February it looked like this. Lots of snow everywhere!
In the wild the reindeers have to work hard to find food but here in the park they have their food served.
The lichen is so yammy!
What’s this?
Hehehe, it’s me – Mr Moose!
Maybe you prefer my gorgeous prophile?
Or maybe you like my flirty look better? 🙂
This dhole knows how to pose for Marko’s camera.
Of course, I know how to pose! I’m a star!
It looks like the ‘posing star’ isn’t very much appreciated by the other dholes ….. 🙂
Ruska and Routa are beautiful as always.
The Winter time is fantastic – isn’t it, Routa?
The days are still very short in the northern Finland but the sun appears in the sky for some moments and ‘paints’ the scenery and even the wolves in beautiful shades of different colours.
These two make such a lovely couple.
The manul Manu is testing how slippery the snow is.
The utters were playing hide-and-seek.
OK, count to ten or at least to five!
He can’t find me ….
…. maybe he’s still counting …. 🙂
According some rumours Venus is waiting for her male companion but the Ranua park hasn’t announced anything yet.
I wish I could tell her that Sisu is doing fine in Doncaster and he has three good friends there!
The animals in Ranua wish you all a pleasant February!
Dear Marko and Mervi!
Thank you for the wonderful pictures from Ranua. Mr. Moose is very impressive 🙂
It is great to see a bit of sun shine in the winter. The wolves are lovely.
Hugs
Ludmila
Thank you very much dear Mervi and Marko.
Best wishes to Venus and the other animals in Ranua.
Dear Marko and Mervi
As I am spared snow here I can really enjoy these beautiful pictures from Ranua. Mervi’s words bring the animals to life.
Thank you both.
Dear Mervi and dear Marko!
Now that Berlin is also covered with a thick blanket of snow and it is bitterly cold, I am not soo envious of the animals in Ranua. But I am happy for them that their favourite season is showing itself in the most beautiful way and that they can enjoy it to the fullest.
They all look wonderful and seem to be very happy. I especially liked the charming moose, the pair of wolves in love, the fluffy manul and the perky otter.
Thank you for the great photos and affectionate captions.
Hugs
Anke
PS: I hope a charming and gentle(!) new companion will be found for Venus!
Liebe Mervi,
Britta-Gudrun
Simply wonderful! . . . Thank you.
The woolfie-love-birds are such an ‘awwwwwww……….’-sight!
And the moose is for sure a beauty – as are all the other animals as well.
PS:
Tell the dhole who pees on THE STAR, that one is not necessarily forced to love
or to admire everybody -even not a star- but too much is too much! 😉
