Yorkshire – The polar bears’ January greetings to their fans
Jan 6th, 2022 | By mervi | Category: Yorkshire Wildlife Park7.1.2022 – Photos by Sheila and Philip Baker
The polar bears in Yorkshire are still waiting for the snow. It has already been snowing in Scotland so perhaps the snow flakes will find their way to Doncaster, too!
Have you heard it’s been snowing in Scotland? Let’s hope we can soon roll in the snow.
While waiting for the white stuff to fall Flocke takes her kids for nice walks. The sweet family wishes all their fans a happy January!
The line up looks very nice!
Princess Tala aka Rasputina
Luka was born in the Ouwehands Zoo Rhenen and he has still many fans there.
Luka sends his best greetings to his fans in the Netherlands and especially to Erik in Arnhem.
In this photo my fur colour has one of the 50 shades of white! 🙂
This is a white version of me. 🙂
Nobby has, of course, also many fans in Munich and sends his January greetings to all of them.
Nobby and Sisu having a lunch break
Sisu knows his fans in Finland haven’t forgotten him and he’s glad to inform them that he’s doing fine.
White Hamish ….
…. can turn into brown Hamish in only seconds flat! 🙂
What’s that smell?
I’m not employed by the Scotland Yard but I’m a very good detective …
… and, naturally, I found the meat! Dear birdie, you just have to wait – maybe there will be something left for you, too.
Hamish and Sisu
Have you heard any juicy gossip lately?
Oh yeah, lend me your ear and I’ll tell you ….
Sorry, my lips are sealed so I can’t reveal what was said. 🙂 Maybe next time ….
On behalf of the readers of this magazine I want to thank our polar bear friends for their nice greetings.
Dear Sheila and Philip! Thank you once again for the fantastic photos! Have a happy January!
Dear Mervi, Sheila and Philip
Thank you for combining words and photos to show us the truly international line up of Polar Bears in Doncaster.
Eight Polar Bears in one place is remarkable.
Some zoos only have one polar bear, most have none. But YWP has eight polar bears, all so beautiful and different. Thank you for the beautiful photos of Flocke’s family. They are doing so well, she has them organized and marching around single file. The bachelor boys are so much fun, I love their photos too.

Dear Sheila,
dear Philip,
dear Mervi,
the parade of these magnificent bears is wonderful and one photo is
more beautiful than the other. I wish the boys also quite a lot of snow
and not for the care of their fur.
Mervi, your comments are again oberwitzig!
Thank you very much dear Mervi, Sheila and Philip.
Best wishes to Flocke, Tala, Yuma, Indiana, Hamish, Nobby, Luka and Sisu.
Dear Sheila and Philip
I think it’s nice to see that all the bears are doing well.
As a Munich resident, I was of course very happy Nobby´s greeting. I would always recognize Nobby. He is not as strong and tall as his roommates. He got that from his mum Giovanna. La Bella Giovanna isn’t a big bear either.
Thank you for your enchanting report.
Hugs,
Anita
Thank you, dear Mervi!
Dear Sheila, Philip and Mervi,!
Thank you for the pictures from YWP. There is no snow in YWP, but the bears have enough to do. They all look very happy.
Hugs
Ludmila
I am glad, to see, that all bears are well and in good shape.
Its a wild bunch of polars, born all over Europe and now
living happy in the great habitat of the Yorkshire Park.
Dear Sheila, Philip and Mervi!
Thank you so much for the New Year greetings from the bears at YWP!
The photos are great and show good-humoured polar bears in all shades of white to dark brown, which suits them all perfectly.
I definitely wish them lots of ice and snow to frolic and play in this winter!
Hugs
Anke
