On Monday 1 April I took advantage of some decent weather to spend the day the YWP near Doncaster. Although I did visit some of the other interesting animals, most of my time was spent at the three enclosures that make up “Project Polar”.

Keeping fur clean by rolling in grass when there is no snow is a Polar Bear must. Even if your best friend is watching and not joining in. It also solves those many itches in a thick fur coat.

One of the great things about the pool at Aalborg Zoo is the opportunity to see the Polar Bears diving. On Thursday they were in the water.

After Copenhagen, I was eager to get back to Aalborg to visit Malik and her daughters, Nuka and Qillak. I have been visiting them since 2016 and you will find reports of some of my previous visits under Ralph’s Reports.

On Saturday 16 March, my last day in Copenhagen Zoo, I was able to see Lynn nurse her daughter. Lynn has a calming influence, and not just on her cub! I really enjoyed the two days I spent with her.

My final day in Copenhagen. We now know that Lynn’s cub is a girl, but in this first feature about my Saturday visit, I think you will agree that I had a bit of a clue that she might be.
