10.9.2018 by Mervi & Vesa Due to all kinds of ailments and sick cats we were forced to abandon many plans during the last Summer but finally we found a suitable day for a zoo visit in Copenhagen. The 110 years old zoo tower is a good landmark and luckily for us the bus stop is […]

On the 15th of March while the weather was still fine, I visited shortly the Zoo. First I was greeted by Ivan, then Nöel and so them both walking in the small enclosure.

To-day (4.1) the tigers were trained. The male Putin and one of the cubs were performing, and the female Svetlana and the two other cubs were out “hunting” each other. The training is just like by the polarbears with targets and clicking and something wonderful to eat, when you/the animal have done it right.

On the 29th of December I had a wonderful opportunity to visit the back stage of the polar bears’ enclosure. A nice start on the day to study these wonderful animals before the openings hours.

For the first time ever the male elephant Chieng Mai was allowed to meet the whole herd – all the females and even the baby elephant Khao Sok at the same time.

23.9.2013 by Mervi & Vesa Although the weather forecast had predicted lousy weather for the whole week we decided to take a chance and visit the Copenhagen Zoo on Thursday, September 19. When we arrived to the zoo gate we saw that the zoo would be invaded by ‘Kindergarten’ children. It was still about 20 […]

3.5.2013 by Mervi and Vesa As we promised here’s the second report from our visit in the Copenhagen zoo. One of the sweetest attractions is, of course, the little brown bear cub. The brown bears’ enclosures are next to the old polar bears’ enclosure and the first ‘brownie’ we met was Papa Bear having a nap. […]

On the 29th of April it was finally time to visit Copenhagen – a visit we’ve been planning for a long time but always been forced to cancel. At the same time I could renew my passport in the Finnish Embassy so that was our first destination.

Yesterday I visited the Copenhagen zoo and had a good look at Nöel and Ivan (earlier known as Boris). I also heard that a baby elephant was born in the zoo.
