- How do I keep my Silver, Gold or Platinum status? There are two ways to retain your tier:
- Earn enough Tier Miles by flying with Emirates, flydubai or on a codeshare flight marketed by Emirates but operated by another airline.
- Take the required number of qualifying flights* with Emirates and flydubai.
Once you have reached a new tier you have a fixed 12-month period in which to earn the Tier Miles you need to keep your status. During this time, you would need to save 25,000 Tier Miles or take 25 qualifying flights to remain in Silver, 50,000 Tier Miles or 50 qualifying flights to remain in Gold and 150,000 Tier Miles and at least one qualifying flight* in First Class or Business Class to remain in Platinum. *Effective 1 April 2023

Platinum members will continue to receive their packs along with their personalised luggage tags.

How do I get tier points on Emirates?

On every flight you take with Emirates or flydubai, the number of Tier Miles you’ll earn is calculated by route, fare and class. You can also earn Tier Miles on everyday purchases using Emirates Skywards cobranded cards*.
Can Skywards Silver check in at business class?

What is the difference between Skywards and tier?
There are two types of miles: Tier miles and regular Skywards miles. Tier miles are only earned when members fly on an Emirates or flydubai flight, and Skywards miles can be collected on flights with other partner airlines.
Are Emirates points worth it?
Buying Airline Tickets From Emirates and Affiliates – Members of the Emirates Skywards program earn miles each time they fly with Emirates, flydubai or any of the program’s airline partners. But the number of miles you earn depends on your fare class, fare type and route.
If you plan to fly with Emirates or flydubai, you can use the airline’s miles calculator to get a good idea of how many miles you will get for any upcoming trips. For example, if you fly Economy Special from New York to Dubai, you get around 1,800 Skywards Miles. An Economy Saver fare on the same route comes with around 3,600 Skywards Miles, and you stand to earn around 12,000 Skywards Miles if you fly Economy Flex Plus.
Booking an Economy Flex Plus fare from New York to Sydney, on the other hand, lets you earn around 25,000 Skywards Miles. The number of miles you earn through the program’s airline partners varies based on the airline you select. For example, you can earn up to 2 miles per mile flown with Air Mauritius and Korean Air.

How do I get silver status?
Silver Medallion status is earned by flying 25,000 Medallion Qualifying Miles, or 30 Medallion Qualifying Segments, and either $3,000 Medallion Qualifying Dollars (MQD) or spending $25,000 on an eligible co-branded credit card to receive an MQD waiver.
Does Silver get priority boarding?
Subject to availability. Priority will be allocated based on membership level, with the highest level of priority extended to Platinum members, followed by Gold, Silver and Red.

If you’re an Emirates Skywards Gold member travelling in Economy Class, you can also enjoy access to our Business Class Lounges around the globe and Silver members can enter our Business Class Lounges in Dubai.
Who can enter a Silver Kris Lounge?
Singapore’s Lounge Program – Singapore Airlines operates SilverKris (Business and First) and KrisFlyer Gold lounges, as well as The Private Room. The former can be found around the world, whereas the latter two are exclusive to SIN. Certain SilverKris lounges provide separate first and business class locations, while other locations combine them.
Business class and Krisflyer Elite Gold, PPS Club, and Solitaire PPS Club (Star Alliance Gold) passengers have access to SilverKris business class lounges when flying on a Star Alliance carrier. One exception is at SIN, where Star Alliance Gold members are provided access to the KrisFlyer Gold lounges.
Solitaire PPS Club members and first class passengers flying on Star Alliance can access SilverKris First Class Lounges. Similar rules apply for The Private Room, with the exception that only First Class on Singapore Airlines counts. Premium passengers flying on SilkAir, Singapore Airlines’ regional subsidy, can access Singapore Airlines’ lounges in certain circumstances.

Can a BA Silver member take a guest into the Lounge?
Hi Joanna, Silver Executive club members are able to invite one guest into the lounge, whether that is an adult or a child (under 18). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult in the lounge. Hope that helps!
