Rights of Dependants v

Dependants (including children under 18 years of age) or (husband, wife, civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner) will not be eligible to live and stay in the UK with the main applicant. Applicant should not have any children under the age of 18 who are either living with them or for whom they are financially responsible. Although spouses or partners of the main applicants may not enter the United Kingdom as their dependants, they may enter if they qualify and obtain entry clearance in their own right under the YMS, or qualify for entry in another capacity.

Conditions of Stay v

Applicants will have the following conditions attached to their leave:

No recourse to public funds; Registration with the police, if applicable; Employed as a professional sportsperson (including as a sports coach) or as a doctor in training

Applicants can only be self-employed if:

They do not own permanent premises from which they do their business (other than their home); The total value of their equipment that they use in their business is not worth more than £5,000; and They do not have employees.

How long can I stay? v

Applicants are allowed to stay in the UK only for two (2) years. While they are in the UK under the YMS, they can switch into any other category of the points-based system (like Tier 1 or Skilled Worker Visa or Tier 4).

Can I apply for settlement? v

Applicants cannot apply for permission to settle in the UK (also known as ‘Indefinite Leave to Remain’) from Tier 5, and time spent in any tier 5 category will not count towards any application for settlement that applicant make in the future.

Where can I apply for the Youth Mobility Scheme? v

Applicants cannot apply for YMS while in the UK, they have to apply from overseas and have an entry clearance. Applicants may apply for entry clearance in the country or territory of which they are a national. They may also apply to a post in a country or territory where they are staying at the time of application, even if this is not their normal place of residence, provided that the following conditions are met:

The British Diplomatic post is authorised to accept entry clearance applications for YMS; and Are able to demonstrate to the Entry Clearance Officer that at the date of the application applicant have the authority to stay in that country or territory; and this authority was granted for a period of more than 6 months.

Biometric Requirement v

Non-EEA nationals applying under Intra Company visa have to apply for a biometric residence permit. The biometric residence permit is a residence permit which holds a migrant’s biographic details (name, date and place of birth) and biometric information (facial image and fingerprints), and shows their immigration status and entitlements while they remain in the UK. This also means that a UK visa will no longer be stamped in the applicant’s passport and all applicants will be issued one of the new Biometric visa cards instead. These cards look very similar to a (pink) UK driving license, except they have a microchip in the back. Once the application for Intra Company visa is submitted online, applicants are required to attend their biometric appointment at one of the Visa Application Centers to provide their fingerprints, photo and signature. Successful offshore applicants will receive a 30 day’ vignette sticker’ in their passport instead of a vignette with the full grant of leave. This 30-day visa will be the date they indicated as their intended travel date in their visa application. Applicants under Skilled worker visa will be required to collect their BRP from the Post Office branch detailed in their decision letter within ten days of arrival in the UK. The Post Office branch is linked to the postcode that they submitted in their visa application. The BRP card can then be used as proof of right to work, study and access public services in the UK.

Immigration Health Surcharge v

The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) was introduced by the Home Office on 6 th April 2015. People (non-EEA) coming to the UK for more than six months have to pay this health surcharge as a part of their immigration application towards the National Health Service (healthcare in the UK). Offshore applicants will have to pay the health surcharge if they are applying for a visa for a period of longer than six months, and onshore applicant will have to pay the health charge for any length of visa. Applicants will have to pay £150 per year as a student or £200 per year for all other visa and immigration applications. Dependants will usually need to pay the same amount as the main applicant. The exact amount they have to pay depends on how much leave they are granted. They can calculate how much they will have to pay before you apply. If the period of grant applied for is less than 6 months, then half of the yearly amount to be paid and if the period of grant applied for is more than 6 months, then whole year amount is to be paid. Visa application will not be granted if applicants do not pay the healthcare surcharge or application will be delayed if the right amount is not paid. Following persons are exempted to pay the IHS:

Applicants applying for a Tier 2 (Intra-company Transfer) visa and their dependants; Applicant under 18 who has been taken into care by a local authority; Applicants who arenationals of Australia or New Zealand; Dependant of a member of the UK’s armed forces; Dependant of a member of another country’s forces who is exempt from immigration control; and Applicants of a relevant civilian employee employed by North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) or the Australian Department of Defence in the UK and their dependants.

What is Tier 5 data center?

The World’s Only Tier 5® Data Center Provider | Switch Switch invented the Tier 5 ® Platinum standard because Switch data center designs, facilities and operations far surpass the highest data center benchmarks available. Switch’s CEO and Founder, Rob Roy has continued designing, building and operating data centers since 2000.

Rob Roy has well over 700 issued and pending patent claims that protect his vision and inventions. Accordingly, for nearly two decades, Switch’s data center and telecommunication technology and services have been praised as Tier Elite ® – above and beyond any current tier metric. As demonstrated by the foils below, in 2014, Switch became the first and only carrier-neutral multi-tenant/colocation facility to be certified “Tier IV Gold” by the Uptime Institute.

In 2016, Switch became the only entity to do so – for a second time, For each facility, Switch obtained certification in both Design and Facility categories. Switch then underwent a rigorous analysis of its operational teams and was awarded “Tier IV Gold” certifications for Operational Excellence by the Uptime Institute.

Switch pursued industry certifications to provide clarity to those less familiar with data center technology. Switch also wanted to ensure no one was misled by less-than-truthful competitors misrepresenting the quality or reliability of their facilities. To continue its pursuit of building the world’s best data centers, Switch raised the bar beyond current industry standards with its Tier 5 Platinum data center standards.

Switch obtained the Uptime Institute Tier IV Gold certifications in 2014 and 2016. Since that time, Switch became concerned that other data center standards fail to provide sufficient transparency or accountability. Thus, Switch identified additional elements it has practiced for years that are central to mission-critical reliability in the increasingly dynamic data center ecosystem needs of today.

Tier 5 Platinum not only encompasses the resiliency and redundancy in other data center ratings systems, but also evaluates more than 30 additional key elements, such as long-term power system capabilities, the number of available carriers, zero roof penetrations, the location of cooling system lines in or above the data center, physical and network security and 100-percent use of renewable energy.

“The original data center standards were created for legacy data centers in the early 1990s,” said Samuel Castor, who helped formalize Switch’s new Tier 5 standards in partnership with Switch’s engineers and under the direction of Rob Roy. “The spectrum of data center options has greatly expanded since their creation.

Customers can now choose between a broad array of options, from in-house, to carrier, to colocation, cloud or managed service offerings. The common core of each of these offerings needs to be much more than just power and cooling. The underlying infrastructure must contemplate security, connectivity, sustainability, optionality and independence.

To be helpful and relevant, our industry standards must be expanded as well.” Industry experts and users alike understand that major threats to data center uptime include water damage, reliance on too few telecommunication carriers, being located in a high-risk geo zone, and inadequate physical and network security.

These mission-critical elements are not being evaluated in other data center rating systems. Switch believes this lack of transparency and holistic relevance makes it difficult for CTOs, CIOs and data center managers to understand the deep dive differences between colocation product offerings when selecting a provider.

Switch introduced the Tier 5 standard in an effort to reduce the lack of transparency and enhance the reliability of data center rating standards. Castor continued: “A tidal wave of technological change has been cresting. When the original data center standards were developed by Hank Seader and Ken Brille back in the early days, no one envisioned the world would evolve as much as it has. Accordingly, Switch created a new standard in data center excellence: Tier 5 ® Platinum which are data centers that are not only “fault tolerant”, but fault sustainable in design, implementation, and operation. Incorporating Switch’s, Switch’s Tier 5 Platinum standard is the heretofore unseen holistic approach to data center integrity and reliability.

  1. The Uptime Institute does not certify data center designs, facilities or operations, as Tier V.
  2. Switch’s Tier 5 Platinum guarantees that a data center’s power and cooling systems are fault sustainable, but also guarantees many other elements critical to support the Internet of Absolutely Everything ®,

Switch’s Tier 5 Platinum contemplates internet connectivity and reliability of carrier services, physical security, regional disaster risks, and the sustainability and energy efficiency of a facility. A detailed comparison between the Tier IV standard and Switch’s Tier 5 standard is available,

Beyond the Tier 5 Platinum standard, Switch sees the need for industry alignment and self-regulation. To that end, Switch has worked with industry leaders and specialists in all verticals to create a new, independent, non-profit standards body for the data center industry. Known as the Data Center Standards Foundation, or “DCSF”, the foundation and its new version of data center “Class” standards, provides much needed transparency into the reliability of data center offerings to help the industry self-regulate and safeguard the data of all humans relying upon the digital framework that supports our modern world.

DCSF enables data center users, owners, and operators to self-assess the rating of their data centers, clearly represents and warrants that rating, and allows independent third-party audit to verify that assessment.

What is the difference between Tier 4 and Tier 5?

EPA Tier 5: What We Know So Far – What Does Tier 5 Mean EPA Tier 5 has been a popular point of discussion lately throughout the heavy equipment industry. EPA Tier regulations are strict regulations dealing with non-road diesel engine emissions standards and require manufacturers, owners, and operators to be in compliance.

So why has it been such a hot topic? Because implementing a new EPA Tier, such as EPA Tier 5 would require generator engine manufacturers to design and distribute new generator technology that meets updated regulations & standards, as well as owners and operators of non-road diesel engines, for example diesel generators to meet regulatory requirements.

Currently, newly manufactured non-road diesel engines, such as generators that are used and operated within the United States are subject to Tier 4 Final emissions standards. Although there has been no public action taken by the EPA in the United States to introduce EPA Tier 5 emissions standards, but that does not mean that there isn’t a possibility to implement these regulations and standards in the near future.

What is tier 3 4 or 5?
