All too soon on Wednesday 6 April it was my last day at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park (YWP). The weather had got better and the Ethiopian hyenas were enjoying the sun.

My second day at Yorkshire Wildlife Park (YWP) took me to Project Polar 2 (PP2) to see how Flocke was getting on. The family were still inside the Den open air area.

I arrived at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park (YWP) on Monday 4 April as soon as it opened at 0930. I hurried along to Project Polar 2 (PP2) and paused only to watch one of the giraffes having breakfast.

The male Polar Bear complex is quite large and the Rangers use a buggy to get around. Hamish soon arrives to check it out. Once the Rangers leave its back to keeping a nose and eye on Nobby and Sisu.

YWP is on the edge of a busy community. But Hamish has plenty of space to look for interesting things. At the moment he is less interested in the nearby houses and more anxious about his best friend Nobby in the enclosure opposite.

Although I had to wait until I could visit Yorkshire Wildlife Park just yet I do have somewhere closer where I can visit bears by bus. Outside the sun was shining but in the window were some friends from the North and South Pole.

Blenheim Palace near Woodstock is a short bus ride from Kidlington. It is the largest palace in Britain. The first photographs show the impressive lake.

On Tuesday 14 September I was safely in Doncaster. After a breakfast of porridge and coffee I caught the bus to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park (YWP).
