Feeding three cubs at eleven on the Wednesday took a while. But by 1130 one cub had decided to bask in the sunshine.

Wednesday was proving to be a good day for seeing Flocke and her cubs together in the lower enclosure. The larger enclosures and their deep pools are behind plate glass windows which make them harder to film through.

I flew into Hamburg late on Tuesday evening. All the arrangements for my week in Germany were in place despite the Corona restrictions. I had been able to buy online tickets for each day.

Between 18 and 22 September I was able to spend my mornings with Katjuscha in Berlin Zoo. She will be 36 years tomorrow (16th of November) and is the oldest Polar Bear in a European Zoo. Despite Covid 19 I had to see her again.

I decided at short notice to visit YWP (Yorkshire Wildlife Park) near Doncaster in order to see Rasputin, as there were rumours that he will go to Estonia to carry on breeding cubs.
